At first glance, it may seem as though this series was created by a paranoid doomsday prepper or a group of burglars casing a local bank. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. While reading George Orwell’s fiction novel 1984 I started to draw quite a few parallels to our society today, specifically in regards to public privacy. Orwell describes a world where every citizen is monitored by a TV-camera unit in every room of their home and every part of the street. Any move the citizens make is recorded and monitored by ‘Big Brother’. Even if you view this as an extreme, fictional scenario, you can’t deny that there are definitely a large number of surveillance cameras in place everywhere, from neighborhood parks to above traffic lights.
